Herman Toll

(1907 - 1967)

TOLL, Herman, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in Kiev, Russia, March 15, 1907; graduated from Temple University School of Law, Philadelphia, Pa.; was admitted to the bar and commenced the practice of law in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1930; member of the Pennsylvania Prison Society, Philadelphia Housing Association, and the board of directors of the Crusader Savings & Loan Association; in 1950 was elected to the State legislature from the sixteenth legislative district in Philadelphia and reelected in 1952, 1954, and 1956; elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-sixth and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1959-January 3, 1967); was not a candidate for reelection in 1966 to the Ninetieth Congress; died in Philadelphia, Pa., July 26, 1967; interment in Roosevelt Memorial Park.
