Israel Becomes Member of NATO Assembly, PA Becomes Observer

Israel was admitted
as a member of the NATO Parliamentary
Assembly during the
organization's meeting
in Ljubjana, Slovenia. The NATO Parliamentary
Assembly is the inter-parliamentary organization
of legislators from 14 member countries of
the North Atlantic Alliance, and is a forum
for international parliamentary dialogue.
NATO also agreed to grant the Palestinian
Authority observer status.
