Palestinian Terror Groups:
Harakat al-Sabireen

Terror Groups: Table of Contents | Hamas | PRC

Harakat al-Sabireen is a militant group that has been active in the Gaza Strip since Spring 2014. The group is supported by Iran, and is believed to receive up to $10 million per year from the Islamic Republic via smuggling tunnels and underground banking activities. The United States has not designated al-Sabireen as a foreign terrorist organization, although State Department officials are aware of their existence and activities. Harakat al-Sabireen's logo resembles the IRGC logo and Hezbollah's flag. The group has used social media to incite violence and congratulate individuals who died attacking Israelis.

Israeli officials are worried that the group is pulling recruits from other local militant groups, like Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and Hamas. The group's leader is a former member of the PIJ.
