California-Israel Cooperation Agreements
(May 27, 1998)
MEMORANDUM OF INTENT
WHEREAS the State of California and the State of
Israel each have important responsibility for encouraging the growth
of trade and investment relations within the framework of a free
enterprise economy;
WHEREAS the prospect for expanded economic
cooperation between the two states is excellent and will lead to
mutually beneficial results;
THEREFORE, it is AGREED between the Trade and
Commerce Agency of the State of California and the Ministry of
Industry and Trade of the state of Israel;
I . To seek enhanced trade relationships and
facilitate cooperation between companies.
2. To encourage bilateral investment.
3. To support industrial research and development
between companies, particularly in high technology.
4. To promote the exchange of ideas between
various businesses, trade associations, business agencies and
commercial institutions as well as visits of company representatives,
engineers, Scientists and other specialists.
5. To notify of trade fairs and exhibitions,
investment seminars and other business related conferences.
This memorandum of Intent shall enter into effect
upon signature and shall remain in force for a period of three years
or until such date as otherwise agreed upon.

UNDERSTANDING
WHEREAS the State of California and the State of Israel each have
