Walter Bargatzky was an official in the War Ministry
assigned to Paris during the German occupation of France (1940-44).
On July 20, 1944, he
was on hand with co-conspirator Friedrich von Teuchert in Paris's Hotel
Raphael to assist General
Karl-Heinrich von Stuelpnagel's Paris coup attempt.
He survived Hitler's
vengeance and World War II to relate his personal experience of the
Paris-based July 20th uprising.
