Joseph Yale Resnick
(1924 - 1969)
RESNICK, Joseph Yale, a Representative from New York;
born in Ellenville, Ulster County, N.Y., July 13, 1924; educated in
electronics; during the Second World War served as a radio officer in
the United States Merchant Marine; founder and chairman of the board
of Channel Master Corp.; engaged in electronics and plastic research
and development; member of Ellenville School Board; elected as a Democrat
to the Eighty-ninth and Ninetieth Congresses (January 3, 1965-January
3, 1969); was not a candidate for reelection to the House of Representatives
in 1968 but was an unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the United
States Senate; returned to business interests; died in Las Vegas, Nev.,
while enroute to California on a business trip, October 6, 1969; interment
in Hebrew Aid Society Cemetery, Wawarsing, N.Y.
