Ruth Yaron
(1957 - )
Senior diplomat in the Israeli Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, has served in the past three years as the chief instructor
in the National Defense College.
Born in Constantine, Algeria - 29/05/57
Emigrated to Israel with her family in 1961, and lived in Be'er Sheba.
She is a graduate of the local high school.
Following her military service, as a squad and platoon
commander in the Nahal,
she married and moved to Jerusalem,
where she completed her B.A. in Political Science and International
Relations at the Hebrew University.
Upon completing her studies, she was accepted to the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs' cadet course, and since then she has served
as part of the Israeli diplomatic corp.
She is a graduate of the National Defense College and
holds an M.A. in Political Science and National Security. She is studying
for a Ph.D. in Political Science.
She lives in Modi'in with her husband and two children.
In the past four years she has served as the public
representative in the public committee to expand the health services,
having been nominated by the Health Minister.
1977-79: Military service in the IDF,
including squad commanders and officers' course.
1979-81: B.A. in Political Science and International
Relations from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
1981-83: Graduate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
cadet course.
1983-84: First Secretary in the Israeli Consulate in
the Ivory Coast.
1984: Public Affairs and consular topics consul in
the general consulate in Toronto.
1985-87: Media and Information consultant in the general
consulate in Montreal.
1987-89: Consultant in the bureau of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs' Deputy Director General for North American Affairs
and Arms Control.
1989-95: Attach - media advisor in the Israeli embassy
in Washington, USA.
1995-97: Head of the Jordanian department in the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem. Handled Jordan- Israel relations, including
the implementation of the Peace Accord. Participated in negotiations and signed a series of agreements with Jordan.
1998: Studied at the National Defense College. Graduate
of the national Defense College and M.A. in Political Science and National
Security from Haifa University.
1999: Instructor in the National Defense College.
Since 2000: Chief instructor in the National Defense
College.
