Mohammed Nazzal

(1963 - )

Mohammed Nazzal is a leader of the Hamas political wing.

was born in Amman, Jordan in 1963. He is originally from Qalqilla, a town on the West Bank. Nazzal is married with four children and completed his secondary education in Kuwait. He was then admitted to Karachi University in Pakistan. Nazzal holds a masters degree in Chemistry.

Mohammed Nazzal joined the Islamic movement at an early age. He was an activist among the expatriate students in Pakistan, where he was elected as Secretary General of the Muslim Students Union in Pakistan, which gathers all Islamist expatriate students in Pakistan.

Nazzal has worked for Hamas since 1989 and is a member of the Hamas Political Bureau and was appointed as its representative in Jordan since 1992.
