State Department Says Treatment of Tunis Jews French Matter

(November 4, 1945)

Acting Secretary of State Stettinus responded to President Truman’s request that he be kept informed regarding fines and levies imposed by the German occupation authorities on Jews in Tunis. The State Department concludes it is a matter for the French.
