Based on the fact that the Government of Iran is seriously fractured, not unexpectedly so, and upon the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan, the United States has been asked to hold its attack on Iran until such time as Iranian leaders and representatives can present a unified proposal.
Accordingly, President Donald J. Trump directed the U.S. military to continue the blockade while remaining fully prepared for further action if necessary. The ceasefire was extended until Iran submits its proposal and discussions are concluded, one way or the other.
