U.S. Plan to Deter or Respond to a Soviet Invasion of Iran

(1979 - 1987)

The United States was concerned in the 1980s with the possibility of a Soviet invasion of Iran. David B. Crist, the Joint Chiefs’ Senior Historian specializing in Iran, made a presentation on how the United States planned to deter such an attack and respond if the Soviets did invade.
