(February 22, 2017)

The US Air Force has ordered 21 Man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADS) costing $15.5 million from ELTA North America in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. MANPADS are shoulder-launched surface-to-air missiles (SLSAMs) used against low-flying aircraft, such as unmanned aerial systems (e.g., drones), and helicopters. The kits will be manufactured in Israel.
