Peter von Wartenburg

(1904 - 1944)

Peter von Wartenburg was born in Germany in 1904. A cousin of Claus von Stauffenberg he worked on the staff of the Reich price commissioner before he joined Abwehr in 1942.

While at Abwehr, Wartenburg joined Helmuth von Moltke, Wilhelm Canaris, Hans Dohnanyi, Hans Oster and Hans Gisevius in the conspiracy against Adolf Hitler. Arrested after the July Plot he was executed at Ploetzwnsee Prison on August 8, 1944.
