The Jewish community in
New Caledonia is predominately located in
Noumea. The Jewish community was established
in 1987.
This relatively new community is
composed of 50 Sephardic immigrants from France.
Most of the Jews work in commercial businesses or in the state government.
There is one synagogue in
Noumea and one Jewish community center, Association Culturelle Israelite
de Nouvelle Caledonie. Kosher food is imported from Australia.
