Judikje “Jud” Simons

(1904 - 1943)

Judikje “Jud” Simons was born in The Hague, Netherlands, on August 20, 1904. As a member of the Dutch gymnastics team, she won a gold medal in the 1928 Summer Olympics.

She was deported and murdered together with her husband Bernard, their five-year-old daughter Sonja, and their three-year-old son Leon. She died in Sobibor on March 20, 1943.

Jud Simons is third from the right in the photo of the 1928 Summer Olympic gold medal gymnastic team.
