Two and a half years since the Madrid Conference, new realities were created in the Middle East, Israel and the PLO signed a Declaration of Principles and an Agreement on Gaza and Jericho. Bilateral and multilateral talks were held in various capitals of the world. Important progress was achieved in this period. In order to make some sense of the momentous events from October 1991 to May 1994, the Information Division of the Israel Foreign Ministry drew up an overview of the peace process in the region. This document has been updated periodically.
