About the Virtual Israel Experience

The Virtual Israel Experience is designed for anyone who plans a trip to Israel, hopes to visit in the future or just wants to learn more about the history of the Jewish state. We hope the experience will be fun and, if you're not careful, educational.

The tour is self-guided. You can either choose to follow the tour we've created for you or create your own itinerary and jump around to the cities and sites that most interest you.

In addition to photographs and descriptions of the places you'll visit, we've added a host of links to articles, documents and other materials that will help you learn more about your destination. These are all contained in the Jewish Virtual Library created by the American-Israeli Cooperative Enterprise (AICE). The materials are designed to give you facts from an unbiased, nonpartisan perspective.

The information has been divided into "majors" that focus on Archaeology, Ancient History, Modern History, Politics, Society & Culture. Each of these majors contain dozens of articles, documents, maps and photographs. Several of these majors have a number of subdivisions as well. For example, economics, agriculture, science, environment and health are part of the Society & Culture major. You can choose to learn as much as you want about any of these subjects. For example, if you're interested in culture and not politics, feel free to ignore the Politics major. If you would like to test your knowledge of Israeli history and culture, or see how much you've learned from the Virtual Israel Experience, you can take our Quiz.

Please fill out our Feedback form to help us learn how we can make the Virtual Israel Experience better and pass on your thoughts about your visit to Israel so tour organizers can improve their programs.

If you would like to learn more about how to become involved in the Jewish community, check out our section on how to Get Involved and the listings of Jobs & Internships.
